After finally gathering up her courage, Susan Pell finds herself in the middle of the Californian countryside after dumping her adulterous boyfriend in LA. Ready to get on, she finds herself the house of her dreams, takes up a job as a Tarot reader with a wonderful boss, a close circle of friends that include the residential ghosts of her house, and begins to rebuild her life the way she wants to. Toying with the idea of getting back on the dating market, her chance encounter with her sexy neighbor Max Lancaster only heightens her desire for companionship. Although she is slightly intrigued by another good looking guy that her friends set her up with, her thoughts always begin and end with Max. As she struggles with her growing feelings, her friendly ghosts decide that it is time
to take action and set about bringing the two closer.
For such a short story this was a remarkably satisfying read. I found myself smiling at certain points where I could relate to the hit and miss build-up between Max and Susan. The pace kept up at a lively pace and one could definitely find themselves blushing over the sensual dynamism of the sexual encounters. I really enjoyed the surprise ending and have to give Ms. Wylde thumbs up for this highly creative and entertaining story.
