The adventure continues in the second installment of the Jennifer Scales series, and I dont think fans will be disappointed.
Jennifers fifteenth birthday is around the corner and she is really settling in to her new form. However, she still has her mothers heritage to carry on, and training for that, isnt going as smoothly.
Readers, prepare for another exciting glimpse into the world of the Scales family. All your favorite characters are back with some new ones too. MaryJanice Davidson and Anthony Alongi have once again wrought a vivid world full of intrigue and sizzling adventure with a few scenes that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.
Again, I find that MJ and her husband are not afraid to tackle some serious issues such as prejudice and loss of life. In this series you will come to see that even the adults dont always make the right decisions. The underlying message seems to be that honesty, no matter how hard, is the right choice.
My only caveat with this book is the back-story. It is there, I suppose, so The Messenger of Light can be read on its own. However, for the fans whove already been initiated, the back-story will slow the pace considerably. The good news is, after the first few chapters, back-story gives way to new story, and boy, is it a good one.
Hats off to MaryJanice Davidson and Anthony Alongi for another fantastic adventure. This fan is anxiously awaiting the next installment.
