Kris Anderssen is having a horrible week. After losing both her boyfriend and job in the small space of a few days, she decides to go home to Aurora to lick her wounds and find herself in peace. Surprisingly content to be back home with her beloved grandmother, she begins to realize that there is more to life than the big city lights and façade of having an exciting life. According to her dear grandmother, it is a matter of fate as the Northern Lights are busy flashing across the sky. Could it be magic and the goddess Freya trying to make her point? Who knows, but Kris is too busy trying to keep her erotic dreams of her best friend at bay.
Paul is acutely aware that the love of his life is back in town. When events lead to he being alone with Kris in the middle of the forest and acting like kids again, it dawns on him that he can’t live his life without her therefore must express his feelings.
This is a wonderfully entertaining read in spite of the super short length. Ms. Thomas shows a real talent in storytelling as the drama catches you and carries you along. The reader can almost imagine themselves in her shoes that show the quality of the writing. In addition, after the happy ending between Kris and Paul, I especially liked the epilogue focused on her ex and his latest adventure. Definitely a recommended read should you need a quick break from the daily grind!
